While Sony could have easily given PS5 owners free PS4 titles that have received next-gen upgrades, it has opted for giving players free next-gen titles. Fall Guys went on to gross millions of dollars across both platforms despite being given away at launch, and Bugsnax could be following a similar strategy.Īs a Bugsnax enthusiast, this is the greatest news of 2020. While PC players had to purchase the game for $20 if they wanted to join in on the madness, PS4 owners were given Fall Guys for free during the month of August. Earlier this year, the wildly successful Fall Guys launched in August for PC and PlayStation 4. It may seem odd to some that Bugsnax will be free to PS5 owners during the same month that it launches, but this isn't the first time a game has been given to PS Plus members at launch. While the trailers paint Bugsnax as a collect-em-all bug wrangling adventure, there might be more to Bugsnax than what is on the surface. Various other trailers have been released since then, most notably the one featuring the Bugsnax theme song performed by Kero Kero Bonita. Bugsnax was announced on June 11 as a part of a PS5 showcase, and the announcement trailer gave a small glimpse as to what awaits players on Snaktooth Island. Young Horses' PS5 launch title will be coming to PlayStation 4 as well, but next-gen console owners will be able to claim their copy of Bugsnax for free during the month of November.īugsnax is a first-person adventure title from developers Young Horses who are responsible for creating the loveably infuriating Octodad: Dadliest Catch. With the impending release of Sony's next-gen console, PS Plus memebers can claim a PlayStation 5 game for the first time ever in December, and that game is none other than Bugsnax - along with Middle-Earth: Shadow of Warand Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition on PS4.
